How To Play FlikBall

FlikBall is perfect for soccer fans, sports lovers, and competitive gamers ages 8+, FlikBall is easy to learn but hard to master.

Here is how to get started playing and fliking your way to victory!

  • The first thing you’ll do is to assemble your FlikBall set following the provided instructions.
  • Set your the FlikBall goal at the edge of your dining table (coffee tables work great too)
  • On the other side of the table, about 30 inches away from the goal, set the flicking mat and place your three 1″ soccer balls on it.
  • Flip a coin to determine who will be flicking and who will be goalie.
  • Load the free scoreboard app on a smartphone.
  • The Flicking fun begins!
  • Each player flicks 10 times before swapping roles.
  • You can do this for 5 times until each player has shot 50 times.
  • Use the scoreboard app to track the scores.
  • Optionally, you can use the app’s countdown timer to limit the duration of each match.
  • Whoever scores more goals wins! 🙌

Basic Vs. Tournament Scoring

The simplest way to keep track of score is simply adding one goal every time a player scores.

However, you can make each match more interesting and unpredictable by making each goal count more points based on its difficulty.

For instance, you could make each goal scored over the flik barrier count double for two points each.

Or, if you add targets to the top corners 🎯🎯, knocking the targets could count as 3 points for penalty fliks and 6 points for free fliks over the flik barrier.

This would allow for players to suddenly catch up if they hit the top corners.

Then, you could allow an instant win if a player knocks each corner target in two consecutive fliks. That means, a player could be losing by a lot but win the match at any given point if they manage the very rare chance to knock both corner targets in a row.

Ideal Fliking Distances

Our tests have shown that the ideal minimum distance for both penalty fliks and free fliks is about 30 inches from the goal.

The Flik Barrier should be about 15 inches from the fliking point. The closer the barrier is to the fliking point, the harder is to flik over it.

The maximum distance we recommend is about 5 feet from the goal. As in the real game, the further you shoot from, the harder it becomes to be accurate. Beyond 5 feet, it’s almost impossible to be accurate but you can get some insane curving shots!

Here are some additional tips…

When you’re starting, you can stick to shooting straight penalty kicks from about 2 to 3 feet from the goal.

Once you’re pretty good at scoring penalty kicks, you can add the flick barrier to make it more challenging.

With practice, you’ll be able to flick with spin and score some incredible curving goals (yes, just like Beckham use to do!)

Test using different fingers to see which one works best for flicking. For most people the best finger is the index finger, but for me, I get best results with the middle finger.

Does that make sense?

Of course, you can also make your own rules (i.e. whoever gets scored on has to do 10 push-ups, etc.)
